Dating???

Well, Calista was asked on a date last night by one of her new friends, Jeremie :D  hehe  I told her I think she's too young to go on dates.  He asked her to go to the movies on Friday night and he didn't mind if I went with them... ha ha ha  I'd hope not!  LOL  Because, yes, she'll be chaperoned! :D

Height

Calista (14.5 yrs old)wants everyone to know that she is still taller than Ursula (10.5 yrs old)!  Hahaha

We suspect thay Ursula's going through or about to go through a growth spurt bc she's been getting seconds at dinner time!  She never did that and now it's a daily thing (for probably the last 2 wks or so)!

Reading???

Ursula went to the bus stop early... because?  She wanted to READ!!!  WHAT???  I'm like, ok... sounds good :-D. Her A.R. book; which is Charlotte's Web.

Update on Calista & Ursula

They're doing well :)  Ursula's catching up to Calista... almost wearing the same sizes!  Ursula's foot is the same size as mine (size 6)!  Calista's foot size is a 7.  Ursula's wearing size 12's... and can fit some size 0's.  Calista's in a size 1.

Ursula is a totally animal person :D  Calista likes them allright... but, not quite like Ursula.  She likes her Guinea Pig though :)  And its a good thing Titan (our huge Pit puppy) is a good dog because all the kids love him :)  Ursula usually brings our cat, Cosmo, into her bunk bed when she goes to sleep and he stays pretty much all night!  ha ha ha  Calista's my height (5'2").  Ursula's not far behind.  Ursula's taking her LEAP test this week.  I'm sure she'll do fine and move on to 5th grade :)  Calista's doing ok in school and also taking some testing as well... not sure what it is though... ha ha ha

Just 2 Years Later...

LOL  OMG, I sure did slack on blogging, huh?  And for what reason?  I have no excuse... I mean, I really should have kept this up since I love reading my posts from years ago and what my kids were doing...

Well, Calista's 13½ and in 7th grade.  She's attending MACA; which stands for Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts :)  You can only attend this school if you get accepted.  You have to have some sort of talent that they can assist you with... such as singing, band, dance, acting, art, etc.  Calista is actually "state-identified" as gifted in visual arts :D  She LOVES her school!  

She's wearing a size 1 and a size 7 in shoes!  She's almost my height... so, she's either 5' or 5'1".

Ursula's 10½ and in 4th grade.  She's still at PBE; her last year... next year, its PBH!  Wyatt will be all by himself :-(

She wears a size 10 in clothes and size 6 in shoes (YES!!! My shoe size!!!).

We have their Halloween costumes!  Yay!  Calista will be Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Ursula is Monster High's Abbey Bominable. I will post pictures!

Health-wise, the girls are doing great :D

Calista's having problems at school (5th)... as in making bad grades :( She's been grounded for the first 2 report cards... two F's on them... and inconsistantly too... she has A's, B's, & C's in some subjects... Thankfully, her teacher sent home a website that has all four of her teachers' sites along with homework assignments... so, now I'm checking to make sure she does the homework that's on the sites... not just what she tells me she has to do.

Ursula's doing well in school :) Of course, Calista wasn't having problems in 1st grade either... not until she got to 4th grade.

Its funny how different they are. Ursula has been moody since day one. Calista's more happy-go-lucky... which is probably why she sees no problem with making bad grades in school. She's just more into arts & crafts. I'm trying to get her to read more (she checked out Twilight!!! from the library for A.R.). Anyways... Ursula's very concerned about her school work and doing well.

I decided to buy Calista a camera for Christmas and Ursula a MP3. I just know they'll LOVE these gifts! That's their big gifts... I bought them both boots. Birthstone jewelry. Learning PC games. They're gonna love their presents! Oh, on Craigslist, there's a guy with older computers that he formatted, fixed up, etc... for $50 to $75 each. I asked Jeremy to buy one for the girls. They have my old one but one of the RAM chips is burnt so, the computer shuts down for the simpliest games (the educational ones they already have)... its just fustrating to them, so, they barely want to use it :( So, hopefully, Jeremy will buy one of those PCs from that guy and that'll be a nice gift for them as well :)

New Haircuts

I love that my sister, Cherie, is a cosmetologist :D
She was at my house because of hurricane Gustav and the girls needed at least a trim, so, Cherie lovingly complied :D

I asked Calista why she wasn't smiling for the pics and she was like, "Well, you know how when people lose weight and they look all sad in their 'before' pics... that's what I'm doing."

And now her happy 'after' pictures... lol
Calista actually wanted Cherie to cut it short... like a bob or something. Jeremy compromised and said she could cut it shorter, but not shorter than her shoulders.
I was okay with her cutting it because she hates brushing or fixing her hair. Hopefully, it won't take much to get her to brush it now...
Bare in mind that no styling tools or products were used...

Ursula had decided to chop the sides of her hair the day before school started... so, Cherie's just evening it out and cutting bangs for her.
Ursula loves her hair... as does Calista.
